On the heels of two on-the-nose product collaborations — one with Alice Mushrooms, functional (non-psychedelic) mushroom chocolates, and one with Four Sigmatic, cordyceps coffee for energy and mental clarity — the HBO Original series has delivered yet another highly fitting crossover: Wranger x The Last of Us.

The nine-piece all-gender collection launched in two drops, both of which are live on wrangler.com as of May 1. It blends the heritage brand’s authentic western wear and signature Americana style with the very essence of the series, which quite effortlessly go hand in hand. Joel (Pedro Pascal) sports an assortment of Wrangler pieces throughout season one (in addition to his now-viral Huckberry jacket), and the company’s emphasis on quality and durability mirrors the show’s gritty mood and setting.

Starting with the most recent of the two drops, the May 1 release adds six new pieces: utility-inspired carpenter jeans, three pocket tees and a “Cordyceps” set comprised of a camouflage shirt and matching camo pants. The styles pull from natural elements of the Pacific Northwest and the streetwear trends of Seattle, where the second half of the second season is set.

Drop number one, which went live on April 10, is a tribute to Jackson, Wy., Joel and Ellie’s safe haven where season two began. Embodying a classic cowboy aesthetic, the first product launch included three pre-distressed denim pieces: a jacket, a button-up shirt and a relaxed-fit pair of jeans.

Wrangler uses its classic women’s and men’s Cowboy Cut silhouettes, but adds thoughtful show-inspired touches: an “infected” wash for a worn-in look and feel, plus grainy, scarred leather patches, an ode to both the brand partnership and the Fireflies. The patches on all three pieces are stamped with the collaboration’s logo.
